Let’s slay Exam 70-480! HTML5 Javascript and CSS3!

Woooosh. I just came back from InfoTrek, dealt with the exam 70-480, guess what, I passed! Hooray!

This exam basically covers HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3, but also includes a bit of jQuery, in fact there are roughly 10 questions out of 40 are related jQuery, which I totally underestimated, yikes!

The exam is free, thanks to Microsoft, you can redeem it for free here and register before 31st of March or they run out of free vouchers.

NOTE: One of my Facebook friend reported that Prometric no longer accept HTMLJMP voucher code, this could mean no more free exam voucher, sorry folks.

So how did I prepare for this exam? This is THE ultimate study guide (Blogged by Chris: Microsoft Exam 70-480 Study Guide) I recommend everybody to use, it is damn complete and comprehensive that it makes you near impossible to fail, OK you will still fail if you don’t work hard for it. The exam is lot harder than what I expected, I mean 50% are easy questions, 25% are wee bit challenging, and the rest are going to torture to an extent.

Pay some extra attention to jQuery AJAX, GET, POST those stuffs. I totally underestimated their appearance and sweated at them.

Lastly, I have to thank some of the books I used to help me through this exam, they are:

  1. “HTML5 Hacks” by Jesse Cravens, Jeff Burtoft
  2. “The Book of CSS3” by Peter Gasston

If you prepare for this exam properly, study everything Chris stated in his blog, you will pass. Gandalf cannot stop you.
