Co-working out of Zus Coffee shops

The best nationwide coworking space you don't know

Almost every single Zus branches provide free wifi with excellent speed + latency. I have yet to found one that I cannot work out of.

Zus Coffee wifi speed

Zus Coffee's Americano quality is decent, I found their RM 6.90 Lydia blend to taste better than the USD 5 Americano sold at Blue Bottle in the US.

Since 2024, I started finding myself slowly spending more time working out of Zus Coffee, than in the IWG Spaces/Regus coworking spaces I subscribed to.

So in 2025, I decided to go all in on Zus. I work out of Zus nearly every weekday, and if I feel like needing alone time doing side stuff on the weekends, I go to Zus for their wifi too.

Making my money WORTH

My rule is: every 4 hours I spend there, I order 1 drink. On some days, I spend my morning there, and go home after lunch; sometimes I spend my whole day outside, so I order 2 drinks.

In 2025, they ran 4x top-up campaigns for discount vouchers. Basically, when we top up RM 200, we are given 9x 50% discount vouchers that are valid for 18~20 days.

The campaign dates were:

  • March 11th (Ramadhan)
  • June 18th (Zus Festival/Anniversary)
  • November 12th (day after Double 11)
  • December 13th (day after Double 12)

Over last year, I have spent RM 2,500/yr on average (I keep track of my expenses).

So that means, if they do the same promotions this year, I should top up RM 600 per round - getting 27x 50% vouchers per campaign - good for 1.5 cups of drinks per day, or 2 cups of Zus drinks on just weekdays.

Mind you, just because I get 27 vouchers, it does not mean I will use them all. But it's probably wise to top up way too much during those periods, because I am spending the $ anyway over the year.

Promotion aside, elite members get:

  • every 8 drink orders at full price, free 1 drink;
  • every RM 333.33 spent, we get a RM 12 voucher through points redemption -- however this can only be used to buy drinks that cost RM 13.90 and above.

Fortunately for me, my 3 favourite drinks turn out to be relatively cheap:

  1. Americano Lydia - RM 6.90
  2. Americano SOE - RM 9.90
  3. Coconut Latte - RM 9.90

And I only reserve the free drink + vouchers on the expensive ones:

  1. Australian Chocolate - RM 13.90
  2. Rocher Chocolate (Taman Paramount only) - RM 14.90

Based on these, Claude's rough calculation comes down to:

  1. ~RM 5.57 per 4-hours Zusworking session, on average.
  2. ~63% more value than walk-in customers.

Rough calc if I cap my Zus spend at RM 2400 this year:

Item Qty Face Value Each Total Face Value
Regular drinks (Lydia/SOE/Coconut mix) 281 RM 8.55 avg RM 2,403
Free drinks — choc (every 8 orders) 35 RM 13.90 RM 487
Points voucher choc drinks 7 RM 13.90 RM 97
Campaign 50% voucher drinks 108 RM 8.55 RM 924
Total 431 RM 3,911
